Sonic Healthcare Ltd is a global provider of pathology, imaging and related clinical services and has entered into an agreement with HEAL Africa (DRC) to work cooperatively addressing the short and long term needs of HEAL Africa regarding the provision of pathology laboratory services and specifically for scientific/technical systems advice and support, staff training, equipment, consumables and supplies. Sonic Healthcare Ltd has extended this interest to providing clinical support to the area of medical imaging. Sonic Healthcare Ltd has agreed to collaborate with HEAL Africa to facilitate the improvement of HEAL Africa's pathology laboratory and complimentary clinical support services in collaboration with its staff.

Australians advancing healthcare in the developing world

AusHEAL is an accredited Australian developmental aid charity focussed on improving healthcare in least developed countries through empowerment of central hub hospitals as a sustainable resource of clinical competency, holistic community outreach and provincial support. AusHEAL fosters these objectives through:

  • ongoing, regular specialist medical, dental and nursing teams
  • long term individual mentoring
  • scholarships for local doctors to acquire specialist accreditation
  • short travel grants to up-skill pivotal nursing and paramedical personnel
  • radiology support
  • infrastructure development including IT, communication, power, oxygen, water
  • hospital management systems and governance
  • English language education
